From laughter
I flopped against you.
Sink, click!
Suddenly intimate,
held inside of moment
receptive, aware of seconds in
wonderment-fear-trance
until our kiss
wasn’t (was) the first time
pressing shapes out of the dark
teeth into my throat—
still sore.

We laid awake hours
between hunger and tender,
grabbing fistfuls of person
not ours to keep,
ungluing our bodies
as the sun was hot and high,
swollen lips wordless
except to mention the season had changed
overnight.
